Project Beautiful♥ ~2012

More than makeup and clothes Project Beautiful is making a difference in the lives of women.

April 30th the Empowered Ladies Union (ELU) of Rhema Christian Ministries hosted ‘Project Beautiful’ for the 2nd year. What a time we had, It was inspirational, motivating and  life changing. As an Image Consultant for UR Woman and apart of the   ELU team It was  a blessing to bring faith and image together. Showing the love of God, seeing the smiles and even tears of joy on some of the ladies faces made it all worth the time and effort that went into putting this project together.

God said He will “take away our ashes and give us His beauty. We may mourn, but He will give us the oil of joy,” and joy was all over the room on Monday. We had the opportunity of pampering over 3o women from the women’s shelter to a Complete Makeover…hair, facials makeup, and  even new outfits. This is only the beginning of what God is about to do in the lives of His women. Daughter’s of Zion “Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.”  My prayer for ever women is that when we look in the mirror we will see ourselves the way the Father sees us Beautiful! ♥

Etiquette 101

Etiquette: System of rules and conventions that regulate social and professional behaviour.

The Golden Rule still applies for good etiquette in all situations for all genders: Treat others as you would have them treat you. Good posture, a pleasant facial expression and appropriate eye contact will help to make a good first impression and contribute to a positive interaction with others. Having good manners is always in style.

Etiquette tips:

1. Hold the door — whether male or female, hold open a door you have just passed through for the person behind you.

2. Say please and thank you — to waiters, flight attendants, store clerks, cab drivers — the little things go a long way.

3. Keep food or drink, briefcases or files in your left hand — keep your right hand free for handshakes.

4. Always try to make eye contact and offer a warm smile — in every situation, this sets people at ease.

Each society has its own distinct etiquette, and various cultures within a society also have their own rules and social norms. Treating people as respectfully as you know how, using common sense will help avoid most perilous etiquette related situations in any culture. Always remember the Golden Rule “Treat others as you would have them treat you” Matthew 7:12

Personal Grooming Tips for Business Women

At UR Woman ~ Image and Etiquette Consulting we want you looking and feeling your best at all times.

check out our Personal Grooming tips for the Business Women:

Office tip: Keep it professional. Save the little black dress for an evening out. If your business attire is distracting because it is too sexy or colorful, your business contacts may focus on how you look, not on your business skills.

Keep Fingernails and Hands clean: Nails should always be clean, and trimmed or sculpted. Avoid wearing unusual or shocking nail colors. Nail art and nail jewels are not acceptable for business meetings.

Business Makeup Tip:Keep it simple and appropriate for daytime. Save the more dramatic look for the evening.

Dressing for success includes more than just choosing the right outfit for that business meeting. To complete your professional look try to consider accessories, perfumes scents, hairstyle and your overall personal grooming. Keep it professional in the office. “Act Like A Lady.. Think Like A Boss.”

Happy International Women’s Day!

International Women’s Day is annually held on March 8 to celebrate women’s achievements throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.

We as women have been through a lot. We have come along way, much progress has been made to protect and promote women’s rights in recent times. However, nowhere in the world can women claim to have all the same rights and opportunities as men, according to the UN. The majority of the world’s 1.3 billion absolute poor are women. On average, women receive between 30 and 40 percent less pay than men earn for the same work. Women also continue to be victims of violence, rape and domestic violence still very high on the list as significant causes of disability and death among women worldwide” (according to the UN news).

On this day we celebrate every women that is seeking to make a change in her life, home, community, city and nation. Also a very special thank you to the men who continue to stand by our side with love, respect and honour.

This is Our Time! 100 years of Women in history.

This is also the day we launched our website for UR Woman an Image and Etiquette Consulting service that seeks to help women define their image in accordance with their unique personality, lifestyle and aspirations. Setting the Pace for your Health

Hey! Everyone:-)

Thanks so much for all your comments and feedback, means so much. I have made some big changes this year to my eating habits. I started to eat clean (no more junk food) taking better care of my body. If your following me on twitter you know all about my 21day eat clean program it was not easy…but I am happy to say…I did it!

As we move into the 2nd month of the year be encouraged my friends make a positive change, set the pace for your health, family and life. You can do it!

Healthy Reflections:

Exercise can be extremely uplifting! Marathon runners often talk about a “runner’s high.” Not only does working out help your physical body become stronger and more resilient, but it also has many pluses for your mind. Taking time out of your day to exercise gives you a chance to let go of your worries, calm your mind, and concentrate on one thing–which seems impossible to most moms! Running works for most people, as you can set the pace and distance to suit your skill level. Start slowly by doing a combination of stretching, walking, and light jogging. Then gradually work up to a routine that elevates your heart rate. Be careful not to start out too fast–it might lead to discouragement and muscle soreness that will make you never want to put on your running shoes again. Pretty soon you’ll be able to intensify your workout to incorporate quicker paces and longer sessions. Endurance and setting a healthy pace are keys to long-term success.
